Music Raffles Fun with fellow Alumni!

***Hollywood Theater, 2815 Johnson St NE, Minneapolis***

We will be having a silent auction and wine raffle and a split the pot drawing to raise money for the scholarships. We hope to have all the recipients of the scholarships present for you to meet and will be honoring our Distinguished alumni as well.

It’s our favorite time of year to celebrate Distinguished Alumni from Edison and the current graduating class of 2026’s Scholarship recipients! We hope to raise money to provide scholarship to Edison 2026 graduates.

Call Mary Dalbec at 763 -245-0299 if you would like to donate to the silent auction, have any questions or want tickets.

Can’t attend but would like to help?

Donations can be made for our scholarships via check or on our website. We are also looking for Silent Auction items and sponsors. We would love to have a few sponsors to help with the event and offset costs and raise more money for the Scholarships! 41st Annual Niles Schulz Scholarship Dinner another great Success!

On Thursday, June 5, 2025, Alumni, Teachers, Community leaders and supporters of Edison and the Northeast community gathered for our annual Fundraising Dinner.  We moved the event to a new location; The Hollywood Theater. Marino’s Deli did an excellent job with the catering. King Kustom and the Cruisers provided some wonderful entertainment before the program. Caricatures were done by Johnny Lourey Borgen, Class of 1975.  Many of the scholarship recipients and guests enjoyed having a caricature done.

The new venue created a more casual and mingling atmosphere and provided a great space for the event and silent auction.  The Silent auction and raffles helped raise more than $10,000!  This year we awarded $38,500 in scholarships to 18 Students.  A very special thank you to all the businesses that once again donated prizes to support our silent auction and to all the wonderful guests that come year after year to support this very important endeavor to help the Edison graduates with their future education.   The Larson Family and the Class of 1965 were all in attendance and have been giving scholarships for many years. The dedication they show as alumni giving back is outstanding. The students are so grateful for the scholarships they receive, and we always welcome more scholarships or donations. Just a few short years ago we only gave out 10 scholarships and now that has grown to 18 scholarships!  What a great community we have!

Many of the scholarship recipients and their parents were in attendance.  The Scholarship recipients took the stage to introduce themselves and let everyone know where they will be attending school in the fall.  We always look forward to having them meet so many of the supporters that contribute to their scholarships.  Students are always so grateful for the scholarships they receive an we always welcome new scholarships or donations.

Distinguished Alumni awards were presented to Tim Kraskey and a posthumous award to Beth Fairley, accepted by Traci Buffalo. More information will be shared about in the Fall newsletter about the recipients.

We look forward to next year as we plan our event and will keep you informed of the date in the upcoming newsletter.  I hope more alumni can participate in this event next year! Please join us, once you find out how much fun it is you will be coming back for years to come.
