The Edison Community & Sports Foundation is pleased to present its scholarship recipients for 2025. We honor these students’ demonstrated excellence in scholarship, school and community service as well as accomplishments in sports, leadership and citizenship.
We extend sincere congratulations to them as they join the ranks of Edison alumni and move on to college life. We thank Edison High School faculty, staff and administration for identifying these outstanding Edison High School seniors.

Carmen Infante Garner, Frank Rog Scholarship
Carmen plans to study mechanical engineering at either UW-Madison or Purdue. She is an IB Diploma candidate, was captain of the robotics club, active in National Honor Society and jazz band. Carmen also tutored students through Study Buddies.

Moxie (Elizabeth) Tucker, Larson Family Scholarship
Moxie will study music education or psychology at either the University of MN or Gustavus Adolphus College. She loves music, sings, was in the jazz and concert bands. She participated in the theatre council, Green Team, National Honor Society, track, and volleyball.

Samreen Ayub, Larson Dental Scholarship
Samreen will attend either the University of MN or Minneapolis College to study biology, hoping to go on to medical school. She loves art and was active in Green Team, Model UN and Asian Club. She enjoys reading, walking, and playing badminton.

Elise Ashland, Wes Hendrickson Memorial Scholarship
Elise will study exercise science at Augsburg and join the wrestling team there. She was in band (jazz, concert, and marching bands), theatre, track, and wrestling. She volunteered at Three Rivers Park District. Elise is Edison’s 2025 Athena Award recipient.

Luis Coria Palma, Gary and Jane Hagstrom Scholarship
Luis has not decided where he will study business finance yet. The Beacons program influenced him to study business. He enjoys making and selling ice cream! He played volleyball at Edison and works at Spark-Y. He also enjoys time with his siblings.

Djomba Camara, Beth Fairley Memorial Scholarship
Djomba is headed to the University of MN to study business and marketing. He took PSEO classes at Minneapolis College and the University of MN, was active in debate, tech crew, theatre, Model UN, math team, and robotics. He volunteers at CommonBond.

Kai Lind, Willi J. Wentland Memorial Scholarship
Kai will attend the University of WA- Seattle to study mechanical engineering. He was captain of the soccer and volleyball teams, played baseball, and is an IB student. He enjoys photography, is interested in ecology and was on the Green Team.

Elijah Luedke, Willi J. Wentland Memorial Scholarship
Eli may head to the University of MN to study architecture. He loves art and design. He played volleyball, was on the Green Team, advanced drumline and National Honor Society. He participates in the University of MN Chinese Conversation Club.

Kira Rath, Niles Schulz Scholarship
Kira will study journalism at UW- Madison. She is passionate about softball. She played on and was captain of the softball and volleyball teams. She is in the IB Medallion program and National Honor Society and volunteers in our community.

Omar Rasouli, Niles Schulz Scholarship
Omar will attend Hamline University to study business and play soccer. He plans to open his own business in the future. At Edison, he played soccer, volleyball and lacrosse. He volunteers in the community through WAMM and took PSEO classes.

Sophia Schuetz, Pete Guzy Scholarship
Sophia will study nursing at UW-Eau Claire. She participated in volleyball, gymnastics, and badminton. She was active in the National Honor Society, volunteering in community-wide projects. She has a job and volunteers with kids.

Sam Young, Pete Guzy Scholarship
Sam will attend UW-Eau Claire to study business. He played basketball, track, and soccer at Edison. Sam took IB classes and volunteered in the community through National Honor Society. Drumline was an especially fun activity for him.

Kaija Nelson, Guil Parsons Scholarship
Kaija will study nursing at either St. Olaf College or the University of MN. She played volleyball and badminton. Kaija participated in gymnastics, and volunteered in the community as a dance teacher and through the Green Team and National Honor Society.

Oliver Needleman, Guil Parsons Scholarship
Oliver will attend the University of MN to study chemistry. He was captain of the soccer and volleyball teams. He took PSEO classes at Minneapolis College and was active in the jazz and concert bands, Green Team and Boy Scouts. He volunteered with children.

August Filter Martin, Art Solz Scholarship
Computer engineering is what August will study at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA. Robotics Club was a big influence on him. He enjoyed the jazz and pit bands, as well as drumline at Edison. August volunteered in the community through Green Team.

Gabrielle Blair, Lorraine Lindahl Scholarship
Gabrielle will study kinesiology at the University of MN and hopes to become a physical therapist. She was captain of the volleyball and softball teams, played basketball and was in National Honor Society. She also volunteers as a youth volleyball coach.

Dakota Austin, ECSF Scholarship
Dakota will attend the University of MN to study psychology. At Edison, he enjoyed wrestling, football and soccer. He likes to create videos and podcasts and was an active volunteer on a Native Youth Council. He took art classes and enjoys abstract art.
