excelled in academics, in service to school and community, and sports, while demonstrating excellent leadership and citizenship.

Niles Schulz Scholarship
Reymie Keenan

Reymie will attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. An excellent student who was involved in many activities at Edison, Reymie won this year’s Edison Athena Award and was a two-time State Champion in wrestling.

Vicente (Vito) Lopez

Vito will study finance at Minnesota State University Mankato. In the future, he plans to enter the real estate world. At Edison, he wrestled, where he won many honors including Conference Wrestler of the Year, and played excellent baseball.

Sylvie will attend Macalester College to study social services. She was captain of the cross country and track teams. She was active in theater council and National Honor Society. Sylvie works and volunteers in our community.

Oscar will study dental hygiene at Normandale Community College. He played baseball, soccer and tennis at Edison. He’s been a student coach for youth hockey. He’s passionate about nature.

Ada will attend the University of Wisconsin-Stout to study studio arts. She played badminton and was captain of her team. She ran cross country and volunteered in the community. She loves making art.

Zander Bloden

Zander will study commercial aviation at the University of North Dakota. He participated in concert, marching and jazz bands. He was in choir and theater, where he participated in shows each year. Zander played baseball and golf.

Lucy Johnson

Lucy will attend the University of Minnesota to study nursing. She played badminton and was a National Honor Society member. She volunteers at Fairview Southdale Hospital and she enjoys drawing and painting.

Badri Mohamed

Badri wants to study neuroscience at the University of Minnesota. At Edison, he was involved in Youth in Government, Model UN, National Honor Society, Green team, choir, music and theater, where he was on the leadership council.

Rachael will attend the University of Minnesota College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resources Sciences. Rachael was an IB student and was on the track and field and wrestling teams. She participated in band and drumline.

Abdi will study psychology at the University of Minnesota. He plans to go on to dental school. He played basketball, was in the National Honor Society, volunteered in the community and took PSEO classes.

Lulu plans to study marketing at the University of Minnesota Duluth. She was active in theater and choir. She manages social media for theater at Edison and has participated in debate and math team.

Otellia Olsen

Otellia will attend the University of Minnesota to study veterinarian medicine. She was involved in Youth in Government, Model UN, theater, concert, marching and jazz bands. She enjoys music and writing.

Caitlyn will begin studies in dentistry at San Diego State University. She was active in National Honor Society, Youth in Government and Model UN. She plays multiple musical instruments and volunteers with kids.

Hugh will attend the University of Minnesota to study finance. He played soccer and volunteered as a track coach at Edison. He was in the concert band. Hugh is passionate about protecting our environment.

Rio Mississippi

Rio will attend Reed College in Portland, OR to study English. He was in concert, marching and jazz bands, theater, track, and National Honor Society. He has written and published a book. Art and music are important to him.

Emmett Erling

Emmett plans to study theater, particularly lighting design at the University of Minnesota. He took PSEO classes, was active in tech crew and Green team. He is a dedicated biker and has an interest in nature.

Elie Niyogisubizo

Elie will attend Hamline University to study civil engineering. He was captain of the Edison soccer team. He participated in BEACONS and has volunteered for community clean up activities.

Bilen Ararso

Bilen will study nursing at St. Thomas University. She participated in Green team which involves volunteering for cleanup activities. She loves music, piano, badminton and basketball. She works and is committed to her studies.

Nicola Mejia

Nicola will attend the University of Minnesota to study psychology and special education. She played basketball at Edison and participated in a program to mentor incoming Edison 9th graders. She works and was a camp assistant.

Elijiah White

Eli will study biology at Augsburg University. He played football, lacrosse and volleyball at Edison, ran track and was a soccer referee. He played in the concert, marching and jazz bands. Eli was a TRIO Upward Bound student.
