Edison Community & Sports Foundation

Hey Edison Tommie Golfers & Friends,
For many of us, being stuck at home during this Pandemic gets us thinking about playing golf.  And with those thoughts comes the Eternally Optimism about some of great shots we will make in “almost” every round of golf we play. And what round of golf is more enjoyable than the Edison Community & Sports Foundation Golf Tournament.

This year’s 35th Annual Golf Tournament will be held at Columbia Golf Course in “Nordeast” on September 21, 2020. Last year’s tournament was full with 144  golfers and earned approximately $22,000 toward Scholarships for 17 great Edison Students.
This Year will be different!  Columbia will not allow big shotgun start tournaments. We have reserved 24 consecutive tee times. So, only 72 golfers – 24 foursomes, will be able to play. They will be available on a first to sign up basis. We wish it could be more but for this year, this is the best we can do.
To sign up Click on the "GOLF TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION" link on the right side of this page. Chose GOLF TOURNAMENT and for quantity, insert the number of golfers. As you proceed through the check out process, please include the names and contact info for ALL golfers in the comment section.

The cost will be $85 per golfer for green fee and cart.

First Tee time starts at 9:04 AM with 8 minutes between tee times. Sign up on-line
Two persons to a cart – Try to be with someone you trust to be in good health.
With Free Hot Dogs and Brats (supplied by Distinguished Alumni, Rob Hovde and Rosens Diversified).
Due to safety concerns, there will be no dinner or program after golf.  Just fun and fellowship playing golf with other Edison Tommies & Friends!

2020 Niles Schulz Scholarship Dinner is Cancelled
We are sorry to report that the 2020 Niles Schulz Scholarship Dinner will not be held this year. Normally the event is in May and we had hoped to postpone until September but now it seems more prudent to not have this year and wait until 2021.

The dinner will be held Monday, May 3rd at the amazing Quincy Hall.  Tickets will go on sale in February. The event will include your choice of dinner, Silent Auction, Wine Raffle and Cash Raffle.
While we will miss seeing you at the dinner, please try to attend the Golf Tournament (Tentatively August 24th) or Indeed We Can event in October (October 21, 2020) at Indeed Brewing.  Both events benefit the great kids at Edison and the Edison Community Sports Foundation.

In the meantime, if you can make a donation to the ECSF, please see the "Donate Now" link to the right of this page, or mail to: Edison Community and Sports Foundation, PO Box 68032, Minneapolis MN 55418.  Our students are suffering during these unprecedented times.  Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for all those who helped make the Niles Schulz

Scholarship Dinner a huge success!

Our Annual May Dinner will be held at the Solar Arts Building on Monday, May 6th. In honor of Niles, we are renaming the dinner to the Niles Schulz Scholarship Dinner. Niles loved attending the event and visiting with former students and athletes. He will be missed at the event but certainly not forgotten.

Tickets will be available in February and can be purchased from an ECSF Board Member or by emailing us at edisoncsf@aol.com

The dinner ticket includes dinner for two, a chance in our cash raffle, Silent Auction, cash bar and other surprises.  If you have Silent Auction items you would like to donate, please email us. We are always looking for items to include.

Be sure to check the Reunion Tab for all summer class reunion information!
